JEZ JIMB. your chins must be down be mid chest. 30 cms from mmy lower lip as crow flies is my spare tyre. tracing contours i arrive at my chest!!! reckon its a misprint 3 cms to my chin or am i just a newly discovered lilliputian!!!

I have been trying to assist you here but I can't.
Assuming your letters are correct all I can think of is SHIN but this doesn't satisfy a distance of 12 inches.
I would go along with JimB here with his answer of CHIN and assume the wording should read 3 centimeters and not 30.
