7d Cleu (I know it's misspelt but I thought it looked cute!): Names of last three Europeans leaving Pacific Island earlier (6)
The answer is given as 'Celebs', which I understand as 'names' but I'd be glad to be enlightened about the rest of the clue.

The Celebes Islands are in the Pacific.The last "E"(ie the third e) is removed
