I found this one of the best puzzles I've ever done (in about 50 years),but cannot completely understand my answer to 13d.If the solution is part of a flower,I know the word is used in some parts affectionately, but then why "suffixedly seeking",I don't want to ruin it for anyone, but perhaps s'one who's already there can explain this final bit of the clue.I can almost guess who it's going to be,of course!!!

Yes,I was assuming that (didn't study Classics in Cambridge without some of it sticking!):just couldn't find it explicitly mentioned as suffix in any of my dictionaries.Anyway, thanks for the confirmation, and I still say HAVE FUN to all those who try it today:for some reason found it even wittier/more entertaining than all other "Araucaria" products!

Even with all these letters I'm stuck!

I found it in a dictionary of quotations. I don't want to spoil other solvers' pleasure by giving the answer yet.

Liz - try Googling any completed words you have in speech marks, along with the phrase 'poet's epitaph'. Hope this works, but if not it'll be because I didn't study Classics at Cambridge - what is it with these people that they just can't help themselves?

Just stuck on 14a: I have e-m-n-g, which is strange. Have I gone wrong somewhere?
