Grade of responsibility; 7 letters _ _ _h _ en

Hi Bryan.

This may be LIGHTEN as one meaning of 'to grade' might be equated with 'to lighten'. I can't really see where 'responsibility' fits in except that 'lighten the load' is somewhat like reducing responsibility.

There aren't many words which one can conjure from that combination of letters and blanks!

Tell me, Jim, how do you manage to show the word 'lighten' in bold type?

Im doing the same crossword. Maybe 26 across is EASE?

I don't have the crossword in front of me [and I suspect that Jim doesn't either] so does 'ease' alter any of the letters which Bryan has shown in his post?

I also have a feeling 22 across is epoch. If so, it will be: _ _ h e _ e n

It's slightly ironic that the Master of Light & Dark should ask this, escpecially in this thread.

I used an HTML tag to embolden the word LIGHTEN.

You can do this yourself by placing a start & end delimiter around the word(s) that you want to embolden, thus:

  <b>Some Text</b>
