No wonder I couldn't do it!

The online clue as printed off yesterday for 17dn is 'Liverish about wind getting up in Maidenhead' I've just checked it again and it's completely different - and yes, of course it makes sense now. And no wonder you thought I was barking.

Honestly, that's two days in a row the Guardian/Observer have screwed up!

Actually, the on-line version (as opposed to the printable version) is STILL incorrect. I guess there will be quite a few head scratching sessions still going on.

I've just had a look and the on-line version still has the wrong clue, but the printable version's OK. That's so weird.

Oh dear. There must be lots of people scratching their heads!

I've emailed the editor. Glad my sanity is no longer in question.

It did seem easier than usual, peterm. What's especially odd is that there are no loose ends- a clue or two that you don't quite get. The answer to 19a was a word I'd never heard used in that way. What a weird epithet.
