trader sounds good - ter(terrace) with rad (radical - extreme) inside?

Thanks, that sounds logical to me - and an across clue means I then had t?a?e?, so 'trader' looked even more likely.

Maybe 'totter' is a better fit -'ter',terrace+ OTT,extreme, giving 'totter'/scrap dealer.I wanted the 'a' from 'trader', but my 34 A answer's not definite yet.

Can anyone help with 24d please?
