I was thinking colon myself but I've got 24d God of Peace? (4) as idol which puts the l on the end

would Icon work for God of Peace (sounds like Piece)?

Okay, I've got 13d but the definition's got me beat.

13d Pensioners are OAPS or SOAP (another type of Opera)moving head to tail

4d is "Railway cut short road in place of 1 across." I have the answer but am struggling to understand the first part of the clue. What is the reference to railway about? I assume it is a word cut down to give the first 2 letters of the answer. thanks
