Hi,

13d Writer's one among teachers to put another type of 9 head to tail
-e-s-o-e-s
I'm guessing it's pensioners but I can't see why. Pen's for writers then it goes to pot.

and...

8d Pleasure-seeking but heartless film no scots get upset about
e-i-u-e-n
I'm guessing it's epicurean, but again can't see why.

Thanks for the help!

Wrier is PEN (not pens) then ONE amongst SIRS (as in Yes, Sir) gives PENSIONERS

Heartless film is PIC(t)URE with Scots no = NAE backwards around it gives EPICUREAN

Thanks matey. Why does that mean 'put another type of opera head to tail'? I just realised maybe I didn't say that 9 means opera in my OP, soz.

heartless film=pic(t)ure. Nae is Scots for no, backwards around picure.

The "other type" must be OAP (= PENSIONER) which is the start and end of OPerA moved around but I have to say it is very tortured - perhaps someone can come up with a more structured reason. Over to you Mrs. Grundy!
