Hi there,

Am a bit unsure of two today. As always, the smaller ones can be a bit of a challenge!

25d - (4) 'Mud cake'. I've got -l-b and don't know whether to go with 'slab' or 'glob'. Any advice?

Also, 8d - (6) 'Fade in sky'. I've got -e-k-n
and can't decide whether to go with 'weaken' (can't see where sky comes in) or 'welkin'.

Thanks.

welk is an obsolete word for to wane or decline (ie fade). Welkin means sky. It can only be welkin.
