1ac looks as if it should be melee but I cannot figure out why. Any comments?

We would need to know the clue, please.

Confusion over allocation of sides: "You weather...."? (5)

M-L-E the M, L and E are correct

Weather is the side from which the wind blows,lee is the sheltered side.
Hence, "you weather, me lee". I do not think it is a very good clue, though.

I put melee. Is the lee side the opposite to the weather side?
That was my assumption, so you take the weather side and me the lee.
Hope that helps - I could be completely wrong, often am......

Thank you all, thought I was going mad with 1ac, still would not have got it,your all as mad as HE,thankfully, and as clever!
I mean that in the 'nicest possible way',however I'll try to re-apply myself tomorrow.
