Last one - 54a Frenchman has energy to race (5) I have E?I?E.
Logically I would say ERICE - but can't find any record of this as a race/to race. Please enlighten!

Also pedantically for 53a Peer into appropriate part of vehicle (9) I have REDLIGHT but thought this would be two words!
