The following are solved but I can't see the full logic;

12d Pen marking route on a trip on barge? (11) I have HIGHLIGHTER which explains pen bu thats it!

35d Cut-throat originally endowed with style, left abandoned (6-3) I have SWEENEY TODD but what about the rest of the clue?

Am I losing my marbles? or just sitting in Elgin Crescent?

endowed style, remove l, anagram

5 D. Nitty = lousy, nitty disheartened means remove the't' in the centre/heart and you end up with 'nity', the end of indemnity.
35 D. Just an anagram of 'endowed' and 'style', with the 'l' taken out ("left abandoned).
12 D. I didn't particularly like that clue/answer either - all I can add is that a lighter is a barge.
