I'm sorry, I still don't understand "Bengali" for "Indian's heartless existence a biography only half revealed" (31d)??? THanks to whoever can enlighten me...

existence = being
being,heartless = beng (lose the middle letter)
a biography = a life
life - only half revealed = li
