21a is castor - twin brother of pollux



island leader - Castro

turning tail - must be the anagram inidcator although it is an unusual one.

Cuban leader as in Fidel Castro( tail turned makes Castor as in Castor and Pollux) got it!

Yes it is but struggling to see exactly why

Cheated

we've obviously got HEATED

could be cold and hot = c and heated
