Wild dog not hard to benefit (4) D-L-. Is this DOLE? Why?

Speed exhibited by bird (4) -T-T

speed / bird is knot, the T is wrong. I also thought 53 ac was Tripoli at first, but it's Nairobi.

Cheers, I thought it had to be either Tripoli or Karachi, and Tripoli fitted with more clues!

dole is correct. Dhole is a "fierce canine mammal"
