Have only a few left to get. Would greatly appreciate help,advice (NOT the answer) to 1 Across.
Stumped by eccentricity with joint contract (8) s----bo-
(I could have s--e-bo- or s--i-bo-, but haven't settled on either yet).

The definition is contract, Pipesmoker. I found it by putting the letters I had in Chambers word wizards - only 2 possibilites, so the rest is easy.

I've finished it now - a bit concerned by what I see as the unconventiality i 20 ac, though

Am now down to just two, interlinked, answers - and am totally baffled.
2 D. Spensarian pair in tense state (4) tw--
11 A. Point about king, old-fashioned at first (5) e-es-
I thought of 'twos,twae,twin' for 2 D, but that gives me odd-looking options for 11A (which I orignally thought was 'egest') The third letter of 2 D is the second letter of 11 A. Any advice to steer me in the right direction?

In 11ac, Chips, your second e is wrong.. Do you know the german word for "first" - just a little elongated.

Once you have 11ac, it's simple to find 2d.
