9 ac - gin some waste. Answer is trap. I know a gin is a trap but where does the waste come in? BTW I wanted it to be ruin (as in mother's), thought that worked nicely!

Having a bit of a hassle with the bottom left hand corner. Can someone please give me 14 down Thickhead painter? I have H in second place. Tried thinking of artists, but could it be something to do with a rope?
