Hi, I have been stuck on these and after wracking my brain to shreds would appreciate some help please.

26a) Girl with religious leader keeping space in railroad. 8 Letters. Have _E_E_O_E
If the answer is PENELOPE then I can see POPE but don't understand ENEL?????

16a) Skid at Monaco: team's on edge. 8 letters. Have _I_E_L_P
Again I think it is SIDESLIP. as in Team's (Side's) on Edge (lip) but what's that got to do with Monaco??? (perhap's sideslip is a F1 term??)

I think it's an old Railway company and sideslip is a racing term.

Just a couple of thoughts: an 'en' is a printer's space and the 'el' is an elevated railway in Chicago among other places.
