Two wee ones today:
"Nasty bug that is back claimed officer" = e coli. It's the COL in the middle I'm not happy with.

"Pass hedge" = lay off.

COL is an abbreviation for colonel an army officer.

LAY OFF is a pass in football. It also means to hedge a bet in gambling eg.
