I am correct in looking for a small bird at 25down : A small bird or one hundred others (9) I have ??U?CREST which looks like it might be Bluecrest but that doesn't appear to be a bird!
If I get this it will help with 24 across: Luigi leads off in dance (10) it looks like an anagram but I cannot make it out I have
S???I?I?L?

Thanks Dunderheid I now have the small bird (goldcrest) as I had soul instead of sole at 29 across. What an eejit.
