This is one of the worst ever and I have had to look up several answers on the forum to get this far!

the first is had es.
Perec (and I learned this on the forum) wrote a "reverse lipogram" containing only the vowel e.

second is retrofitted - anagram of tree to drift

PS can you put a ? for spaces between letters rather than _ - my eyes aint wot they used to be !

Thanks guys, I had class for 45d (I thought it related to degrees)which is why I could not get hades. I suppose it has to be clash although I cannot see why. I will try to use the ? for spaces in future.

Crash (ie failure)may be better but still makes little sense against the rest of the clue!

I suppose that if your exam mark is a C, that would be third-rate and if you act without considerating the consequences then that would be RASH.
