Hi all.

"French head of police's senior pupil" = prefect.

"Stones stranded" = pebbbles.

"22, say, heard in Paris school" = lycee (22=Lee).

I suspect I'd benefit from a greater knowledge of French today...

Worked out pebbles and lycee yet could not see prefect so many thanks!

But do you know the logic behind them? That's what I'm after...
