Here's another, if I may:

The word pattern makes me think of SOLIDUS which is a gold coin but I don't get the rest of the clue.

The answer I am thinking of for this is
STILLBORN. That would give me the L.

Stillborm looks correct,
I ask because I was thinking of Bequester or solicitor (will composer)

The drop Fortissimo bit could mean a word without the F or FF for very loud at the end.
