Hi Jerry,

Thanks for 6a, which seems to have helped me finish this. I don't really have a good explanation for 7d though, which I assume ends in S. I can see the trousers with the first letter missing, but 'veteran retreats' ?

I'll also be missing for two weekends, starting with your second week away. We're going north too, as far as the Land of the Midnight Sun and our cruise ship will have a lot more than 600cc !

LARES is the Spenserian version of LAIR hence a
veteran retreat.

Thanks for explaining LARES ! I saw your Azed posting, for which thanks - I too didn't get the Mistress Quickly link, although I did finish (I think) the Azed unaided for a change.
