Your definitely correct with Jambalaya.
A jamb is a door post and alaya sounds like (Remarked) A liar. Porky pies is slang for Lies. And Jambalaya is a creole spicy rice dish

I always find these "sound like" clues the most difficult of all to solve,and also rather unfair.
This is due to the wide variations in pronunciation in the UK. "Perhaps in the South East "laya" may be said as "lier" but never up here in Scotland,where we don't insert invisible "Rs"in our purer English articulation.
I will now stand back and await "wrath" or in the Southern speech "WATH".
