45a Needle' point's taken minutes in dispensing with outer edge. R?M?E?S. I'm being thrown by the punctuation.
Also, 11d Part of PC's task ultimately to follow members of police force.D?S? D?I?E. Disc drive is part of PC, and DIs in police, but I don't get the task bit. Any help appreciated.

I thought it was DISK DRIVE
DIS = police, K = task ultimately and DRIVE = force

The other looks like RIMLESS
