Good evening all.
Many thanks to all that entered the 2nd CLUELESS competition, once again anagrams featured in the majority of submissions. I admit two of the clues had me absolutely stumped, (I’m the one who asks you for help!) so I apologise to you chrisg & ixion for not even being considered as the winner when either of you possibly deserved to be.
All said, my winner for this week is …….
Siamcat!!
The clue was – Looking back, catch sight of the French policeman, a revelation
ESPY-LA-COP-A (APOCALYPSE backwards, loved the clue)
Well done Siamcat, “wig and word” pass to you for the 3rd thread next week Wednesday.
Your much anticipated prize is as mentioned an all expenses paid, night out in the…. local township!
You & a partner will be collected from your hotel in a mini bus taxi, (do not be alarmed if the driver is using a monkey wrench to steer the vehicle, quite normal!, you may also be accompanied by a few chickens, goats, large plastic containers mattresses etc), you will be driven at high speed to the local “shebeen”, (tavern) where a feast of culinary delights awaits you, putu, “walkie talkies”, (chicken heads &, feet, delicious!) samp and beans to mention but a few. The choice is endless! On the refreshment front I suggest you sample the local ale “shimeaan” (a combination of anything - which has been left to brew over a period of time in a metal drum, not for the faint hearted!). To bring the evening to a close, enjoy a little dancing, the dance at the moment is called the “Toyi toyi”, this is achieved by jumping about, waving the arms in the air and shouting, very easy to learn (music is not a requirement nor a necessity for this dance). The taxi will then return you to your hotel, (probably in less time than the initial trip took, no need to worry about traffic lights at this hour!!). All in all it will be an evening to remember!!!!
ps. Bullet proof vests available on request.
Once again thank you all, Good night
Mary
