Now that I've had 'orchid' confirmed, I'm left with rather a strange-looking answer to 3 Down - Turning coarse, Rosalind sent up prayer book (6) mihs--
The 'm' might be wrong. I had 'missal' but the third letter now has to be 'h' from 'orchid'. I'd love to be enlightened.
