Just getting down to it now and have 1A but stuck with 7A not to mention 2D,4D and 5D!!! Off to lunch now and will try to concentrate later!!!!!

5d is DONING,15d you are probably spelling the word in here with an S it should be C which gives 31a C to start with. 24a is MANRENT.
I am very pleased I am not the only wino and nicotinic in the world!

I reckon that 5d is DONING ('giving' as in Donation). On that basis, your 10a may be incorrect - I think it starts with INVO..

Hope this helps. Btw, I have only done about half of this so far. It's a compiler's revenge after last week !

This is a stinker this week 1a is QALAMDAN,sometimes spelt with a K.
26a is EOTHEN meaning from the East.
Suggest you look up both words in St.Chambers gospel.

1a is QALAMDAN but don't ask for a detailed explanation ! It fits with my down answers anyway.

This is quite a tough one to come back to ! I still have four answers to get after quite a bit of effort !
