I`m tempted to put in ELEVEN for 8dn and RAISE for 13ac, but cannot parse either...other than "team" for 8dn.... and "(p)raise" for 13ac.

If you gave the clues, then those of us who don't have the puzzle could offer some help...

yes to eleven - manuel(spaniard) less man u gives el + even (quits,equal)
yes to (p)raise - defn rally - praise is to rave over - take the p{heading} off
Bullfrog is right - you need to give the full clues for those without the crossword

Sorry! Silly of me. I now understand 8dn., but I`m still not 100% sure about 13ac.:

"Rave over, heading off for rally (5)"

Do you have any of the letters? Presumably it begins with E
