I know it is early days but how is everyone doing with this one? I think I have got about 15 answers but not finding it easy!

Got 60 answers and a few pencilled in, it is very challenging. A good crossword dictionary and thesaurus has been very helpful.

This is always a great puzzle but never easy. Have been doing for well over 20 years and only got 100 right once. Just keep on trying! Have done 60 odd - not to say they are all correct! Plenty of time til end of May. Good luck.

Thanks Mamya and g - you have both done very well. My brain is obviously not working at all. Recently turned 65 so think it has gone into meltdown!! Very frustrating.

Sorry!! Older than you!! So not a valid excuse. You need to know how the setter's brain works - but as I said - not easy. Good fun though.

I've got 31 so far. My heart isn't in it this time as I've always done it in the past with a friend, but she has recently died. I'll try to complete it but I think it's going to take me a lot longer than usual.

That's the plan, Mamya. We made a good team, though, and I think there will be some gaps where her answers would have come!

Need to go out and buy a better Thesaurus. Wish I could get a copy of Chambers Dictionary 10th Edition to see if that would help but no luck. Have trawled the charity shops as well. Will keep persevering!
