According to Chambers Dictionary, aperitive is an adjective meaning laxative. As a noun, Chambers admits it is a variant of aperitif but the primary meaning is an aperitive medicine.

Michael, you are talking rot. Chambers do not "admit" anything, to use your parlance. Chambers is an accepted dictionary, or medium of reference, in the English language. The word "aperitive" is an accepted alternative spelling of "aperitif", So, why do you have a problem with the word, that you have posted on at least three separate threads?
