that is a good answer and more than correct,but a terrible clue.
Cockney says ull instead of Hull.
I suppose a cockney might say 'otel instead of hotel but that's a class thing.

Boring = DULL

Dead = D

Cockney view of HULL is ULL

So it does work

BigDave the reason I don't like the clue is that it assumes that a cockney(Londoner) drops the first letter in everything they say.
I think you will find that a cockney will emphasise the letter H .
