"Tree changes direction with fork made from wood" ... probably 'fret-work' but not the greatest clue ever, I think.

Hi JimC - how do you get the wordplay to fit that last answer?

Second thoughts JimC - I guess you've changed the e in tree for w (i.e. direction)which then provides the letters for fret-work.

'tree' with one direction ('E') changed to another ('W') and tured around a bit, all inside 'fork'.

IF 'fret-work' is even the correct answer, that fiddly wordplay why I don't like the clue.

Typing looks fine to me Jim C - and fret-work seems a pretty good answer to me on reflection.
