It was a not very subtle way of getting you to quote the clue in your post.

Thanks to the help from the forum I am all done, tho cannot see how the answer to 7 down fits the clue. Happy solving.

To help those that don't have the crossword, or at least say that that they don't, 11a ::
"Bacon not entirely accepts one freaky artist !"

I am not sure why but I think this may be the first name of an Spanish artist noted for his wacky, surreal paintings. Now this would tend to suggest that this weeks theme is painters perhaps ?
