gareth must admit your post made me laugh, and seeing how i have spent almost same time trying to work these out, can only say, thank heavens its done.

Must admit I have been struggling today and not getting very far.

the answer to 3 is net. So, 3s = nets, nets+ in complex means anagram of nets +in = tennis.
