Have slogged and slogged - and have finished all the clues,know what the link is and have four of the six terms. The last two for me ( the first two, physically speaking (beginning at 1 Across)are proving an absolute nightmare - the blanks at the start mean that I'm just making random stabs (!)in the dark.I think I can see where the break is between the two terms, but it's hard to be sure. How did other people do it, how did they/you make a start?

No wonder I was confounded ..... I was looking at the wrong definition of the word to be shaded ! lol lol lol.

The six terms are 9 , 10,2&5, 3-2-3, 10, 8

Thanks, Tony. I've got the last four but I appreciate knowing the division/lengths involved in the first two.

Done! I must add that I enjoyed struggling with this in the full knowledge that no-one would give me the answers, and knowing that I could ask for a wee nudge in the right direction. Thanks.
