2. ALIENATE a lie =nate (etna anagram).

29a I think ia Alienate - A Lie (a story) about (surrounding) an anagram of Etna.
Although, Alienate = Divert is a bit ropey.
I can't see why Delta is tha answer apart from "Louisiana Accent there" but I think you are right.
