something to do with Fermat's last theorem which was found scribbled in the margin of one of his books not sure if it has ever been provedm.might be wrong about that.

trevor..yes fermat's theory has now been solved. Watched a Horizon programme about it a few weeks ago.

Googled it and it was solved by Andrew Wiles in 1995 . He received a knighthood

Thanks all. The nearest I got when I looked at the pattern of letters was FARMER.

I also saw that recent programme. It was good. And I've seen earlier programmes with Fermat as well. So no excuses for me there!
