I have just picked up my 1960 copy of Larousse Gastronomique and in it is the recipe for the Mr.Callaghan cocktail.2/5 dry cinzano,1/5 apr. brandy and 2/5 angastoura bitters.

Brilliant, at last it was really annoying me and I wasn't even doing the quiz,

hello i got that before, looked up the cocktail, but it didn't list those ingredients.

Sorry emf,I'm not claiming it as my answer and I have seen your earlier reply it was just that the ingredients needed confirming.I am suspicious of the print though,I think it should read 1/5 angastoura as otherwise it would be too overpowering.I also missed the fact that my copy says this edition printed in 1977 so it could be named after sunny Jim himself.

think there must be a little bit of artistic, or alcoholic licence here, its certainly kept us looking.
