thank you

I was getting nowhere with "army" quotes, so went for alliteration instead.

Well done to you all for getting all of the answers to this charity quiz.
Now, I hope you are all going to send in donations to St Peter's Slinfold. You will have the address from the website.
They suggested £3 per entry.
If you have just had the fun of doing the quiz, perhaps £1 each would be appropriate ?

Yes well done you three for ruining this quiz by posting most of the answers for all to see. Another good quiz turned into a lottery.

Dear Disgruntled

Well, 24 answers out of 60 are on here - and as with any quiz or crossword, you don't have to come reading threads on this forum (or answers on Answer Bank) to answer the questions.

It is for charity, so the donations are the most important part - hence why it is not essential to answer them all. There are a small number of prizes, but the donations are what it is really all about.

I quite agrre that donations are primarily what the quiz is about.

But how many people will not bother now that they know most of the answers are now "out in the open" ?

Correction, George III - SOME of the answers can be found here - MOST (36 of 60) have not been answered on here.

All quizzes are "a lottery" - people attempting them know the answers, search online or in books for them, or get help, as appropriate to their knowledge and detective skills.

It is still not far off being HALF the total number of answers which is high by any quiz standard.

"people attempting them know the answers, search online or in books for them, or get help, as appropriate to their knowledge and detective skills."........ but then they put their answers on their sheets and send them off. They don't put them on a website for EVERYONE to crib from !!!!

How is it a lottery if you do the research, whatever yourself. I call that making an effort, trying, being fair, etc.
If you have to get somebody else to give you half of the answers it must be because either you are incapable of doing it yourself or can't be bothered. You certainly don't deserve to be handed a potentially winning lottery ticket by well meaning helpers.
All this high minded talk about Chariteeeeee is utter tosh. It's obvious that many people see getting the answers as vitally important - why are they asking otherwise.

Well said terry.

Every single quiz is now being swamped by quiz entrants DESPERATE to finish each and every one whatever the cost.

Is it really THAT important ?
