Hi all: an explanation here would be v helpful.
17a Molluscs: secure one, holding out head to be chopped off.
Ans = Nautili, which are molluscs, but why?

Secure = Nail
Out - Head choppped off = ut
Holding one = I
Na ut i l i

Many thanks - in the end it wasn't more difficult than any of the others - I must have had a blind spot or something.

Don't talk to me about blind spots. I was diagnosed with NAION on Friday.

Thanks for your comment chrisg - as I say luckily its in my right eye, which I have very poor vision in anyway.

If it was in my left eye, I'd probably have to give up work. I'm on aspirin now and off to the doctors next week for medicine for High Blood Pressure.
