GORILLA sounds like guerilla warfare.

1. wolfhound. (hound is a fish).
3. harvester? I thought this is a bug.
5. mole? (don't tell someone who is a spy).
6. weever - a fish
weaver - a bird (both sound -a bit-like we've a, i.e. we have one.

2. pied wagtail

I like helena's pied wagtail. But you might consider - skye terrier. the motif on a bottle of Black and White whisky. one black one and one white one.both probably pissed and therefore happy.

I would have gone with Barracuda for Number 1.

Yes, plaice looks great. but I don't think barracuda works. for a start they are no more voracious than lots of other fish. and there is no word play. wolfhound fits the clue hungry/eats quickly + a fish = wolfhound.

Thank you for the endorsement of plaice. I've just looked at the clue again and I could be wrong but all I see is

I may have missed something, it's my birthday and a surfeit of red wine doesn't help (hic) x
