3d) From edges of arena, run over to catch country musician. (5,7) A-R-N,-O---N-.
17a) Perhaps Prospero's island toured by players (8) C-B---S-. Is it Ca(Bali)st, because I don't know who Prospero is, can anyone tell me. if it is Cabalist, then that will put a (L) in the middle of the second word in 3d making it A-R-N,-O-L-N-.

There was an American blues singer called Aaron Collins.
Prospero is the main character in Shakespeare's The Tempest. Also on the island lived Caliban, which may give you Cabalist, though I confess I am unable to see why.

Thanks a lot. I got Cabalist from Island= Bali inside Players= Cast. But in 3d) I only get the double A in Aaron Collins from edges of ArenA, don't really get the rest of it, what do you think?

I am trying to work it out.
Possibly AA +R(run) +ON(over) +COLLINS - is there by any chance a cricketer called Collins?
