This is my last clue & I can't parse it to distinguish between the possible answers. I have r_v_s_; and I assume from the clue that it has to r_vis_. However I can't make a distinction between the various possible answers (revise, ravish etc).

The clue is "Spots Heads of Vehicle Inspectorate inside transport". Thanks for any help -it's driving me mad.

Hello engineerb - it has to be ravish - vi inside rash for spots

It is Ravish...seize and carry off (transport)
Spots = Rash
Heads of V ehicle I nspectorate inside
