I have put "mariniere" - sauce
a la mariniere - in the manner of the bargeman's wife - according to the dictionary

Also put mariniere, just to complete the last clue, but couldn't see the word play

Thank you for that! I was also stuck on the same (last) clue, BUT it does make me query MR CROSS WORD CLUE SOLVER why your very own Crossword Solver (which is normally VERY reliable) could only come up with LACINIATE, NATICIDAE or TAPIRIDAE???
