El (spanish) evens (odds) = Elevens ( cricket/football teams)

I know you asked for hints, but as everyone else has answered, the first is TRONC, a scheme usually run by a head waiter where all tips are pooled. The head waiter is also supposed to deduct tax (and payit to the Inland Revenue!) when sharing the money
