it looks likely to be Sell (declared the room = sounds like Cell)but i have never heard Sell to mean disappointment.

Ihave been stuck on these 2 as well but the last answer by emf I reckon is the answer as pall does mean a disappointment. First time on this forum got recommended by a reply on AB pointing me in this direction.
