Have one I can't parse:

22A Abstract, inane ideas on origin of Parks and Recreation. (6)

P _ E _ I _

I'm thinking it must be PRECIS, which is type of Abstract, but aside from the P and R at the beginning I can't work out the rest of the clue.

Any suggestions?

I think it’s I(DEA)S on the end of P + REC. Inane as in empty

Thank you quisling. I thought at first that it was a bit of an odd use of 'inane' but looking it up I see it does derive from the Latin for 'empty', so that must be it.

No problems with the Jumbo this week, but stuck on the standard Xword.
Here's a few stragglers:-

17 Down - "Attila's final manoeuvre is uncoordinated" (7) A-A-T --
25 Across - "Extremely censorious about my cakes" (6) ---N-S
22 Across - "Abstract, inane ideas on origin of Parks and Recreation"
(6) P-E---
20 Down - "Amateur right back tackling shooter" (7) T---L-R

Have bits and pieces, but not the final construction!

Many thanks, Quisling - looks like I posted my query at the same time as someone else! Having spent all my quizzing time on the Jumbo, I didn't have much time for the smaller cryptic - thanks again!

Thanks, Quisling. I was just about to combine the two threads and saw that you had already done it, much appreciated.

1a Cordial grand coalition's over for our times (8)
?A?L?A?O
Galliano? I thought this was a liqueur rather than a cordial and I can't parse it, so could well be wrong.

G Allian(ce) O(ver)
CE = common era, our times.
Chambers suggests cordial and liqueur are US synonyms

Thanks Jono, still puzzled, I understand that ce = common era = our times, but not where the clue instructs us to delete it from alliance. It can’t be ‘over’ because that’s providing the ‘o’ at the end.

"over for our times" - replace CE with O

I wouldn't have called it a cordial either! We had a bottle hanging around for years just in case anyone asked for a Harvey Wallbanger.
