Some nifty anagrams but I prefer nifty wordplay. Likes for mattrom@6 and aristo@20 but my vote goes to tyke51@23 - very clever.

With only one vote to come, the outcome is assured, so I'm calling it early: aristo@20 has 3 votes for the mildly saucy

Having stripped, rides off with tramp for ill-fated assignation (4,2,5)

Congrats aristo thanks to all for playing.

Congrats aristo and thanks buddy.

The first clip reminded me of this lovely clue from today's Guardian:

An heir to Homer, this fellow's a French intellectual (7)

Congrats Aristo, nice clue. Thanks also for the like. Cheers Buddy for a fun challenge.

And good luck with the rest of the day…

Sorry Buddy, didn’t get to vote - just back. In a bowling competition ( not tenpin) phones not allowed.

Yowza. Thanks so much for the votes, tyke, mattrom, and dorrien, for the mentions, jono and peterm, and for the prizes, buddy. I saw that game. I’d say the most exciting one I’ve ever seen was Notre Dame/Louisville in 2013. ND (home) was down 12 with (I think) 50 seconds on the clock and the stands had been emptying, and they astoundingly managed to tie at the buzzer and win in five OTs, the longest game in their history.
